D-DAY Manor Tours
“Ben, your ability to paint the big picture and then zero in on individual soldiers' actions through words, photos and onsite presence was brilliant."
D Day was the greatest military operation in history and the ‘big picture’ is well known and documented.
However as with all pictures it is one made of ‘pixels’ – these pixels are the small stories of heroism and courage that turned a landing into a liberation – and these stories in essence form the backbone of our tours.

Itinerary
The Tour
After breakfast, we begin with a short briefing before setting out into the heart of the American airborne drop zones.
The morning is devoted to the dramatic events surrounding the airborne landings of D-Day. We visit Sainte-Mère-Église, the first town liberated on June 6th, and continue to Utah Beach, where American forces came ashore in the opening hours of the invasion.
We also visit La Fière Bridge, scene of some of the fiercest fighting of the Normandy campaign and featured in the closing moments of Saving Private Ryan.
From there, we travel to the dramatic cliffs of Pointe du Hoc, where U.S. Rangers scaled 90-foot cliffs under enemy fire to silence German guns threatening the landings below.
Continuing east along the invasion coast, we explore the remarkable battery at Longues-sur-Mer battery, where the original guns still remain in position more than eighty years later.
We conclude the day at Normandy American Cemetery and Omaha Beach—places of reflection, sacrifice, and remembrance.
